Van Alen’s design is deceptively simple, but its stripes are as elegantly engineered as the Art Deco building that inspired it. Named after the architect of the Chrysler Building, the Tibetan hand-knotted wool and silk rug’s linework is done in pure silk with subtle shadow detailing, giving the delicate bars a dimensional, gilded feel. Interwoven at the corners, the pattern can be tailored to fit around a fireplace hearth or a room’s architecture.
