Designer Mary McDonald drew from many influences—classic French floor patterning, backgammon boards, the work of designer Andre Arbus—to create her La Voute rug, a hand-knotted Tibetan done in wool and silk that’s both chic and grand. The matte and shine of the fibers enhance the architectural forms and intersecting lines for a three-dimensional impression.
