JOHNSON HARTIG

When it comes to color, pattern, and unexpected juxtapositions, L.A.-based designer Johnson Hartig is fearless. His clothing label, Libertine, rocked the fashion world when it debuted in 2001 with influences as disparate as the punk rock scene, science and nature, and canonical works of art. His new rug collection for Patterson Flynn puts an emphasis on beautiful textural effects, saturated colors and, of course, his signature inventive graphics. The bold looks for which Hartig has become famous along with more restrained colors and patterns are both represented, but they all sport his quintessential cheek and charm. Crafted of Persian and Tibetan hand-knots in wool and silk, this introductory collection is a nod to Hartig’s design journey, his world travels, and his boundless curiosity.
