Description

Based on an original collage created by a Patterson Flynn artist, Patchwork is a play on positive and negative space. In Chambray, angular, pale blue shapes float over an ivory ground, spilling in some places over the tonal border. A Tibetan mixed weave of wool, silk, and linen, the structure and pile height change to provide contrast between the shapes, the ground, and the border. The lush hand of the rug, combined with the intentional irregularity of the motif, make this a modern masterpiece.
