Description

Based on an original collage created by a Patterson Flynn artist, Patchwork is a play on positive and negative space. With a palette of earth tones in a combination of lustrous fibers, Aquarius is a masterful Tibetan mixed weave construction. A wool flatwoven base is bordered by silk. Abstract shapes float across the surface and even drift over the border. The shapes, rendered in silk, linen, and a silk-linen blend, are worked with variations in the rib to make the textural contrast even more pronounced.
